LABCICI exists to promote quality education for all learners and to help those with special needs become productive citizens of the country.
LABCICI operates from the assumption that almost all learners, young as they are should start in an environment where they can meet friends of the same pre-age to play and interact with, do art activities with, listen to music, sing songs and do physical education activities. All these activities can be viewed as opportunities for the enhancement of their social skills.
Inclusive special education should be given to all learners. Children with special needs are accommodated together with the regular children. However, if a child needs further assistance, a shadow teacher is provided in their midst to ensure that the child can comply with what is expected of him in the same environment where his/her classmates are.
An extended time allotted for remedial lessons is given to support and address other concerns, like behavior modification, establishing work habits, better understanding of the lessons, pre-skills enhancement for the execution of productive learning, such as fine-motor skills- enhancement learning, pre-reading skills enhancement, understanding the concepts of Mathematics, communication skills enhancement, vocabulary enrichment programs both in English and Filipino, daily living skills enhancement to achieve the ultimate goal for the child’s independent living.
Academic program shall access the general education curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education and other curriculum sources. Our challenge is to set Individualized Educational Programs (IEP) on high expectations through differentiated instructions giving value to the Rights of a Child (P.D. No. 603 “Child and Youth Welfare Code,” Article 3 Rights of a Child.
Accessing requires adjustments and modifications to the extent of creating new teacher-made-materials to appropriate them to specific learning needs and learning style.
Inclusion of learners with diffabilities shall not cause any delay to the learning of other children or even to those who are highly motivated.
Those who are gifted or are above in average shall be provided activities for their continuous enrichment.
LABCICI continues to search for “evidenced-based” approaches in teaching children with different abilities in an inclusive classroom and utilize new extensive approaches for effective instruction.
LABCICI shall apply the holistic student-evaluation program. The school uses several tools and techniques in evaluating learners’ performance. The school along with the parents shall review the student’s performance with their parents at the end of every semester.
LABCICI parents are invited every semester to observe and evaluate the development of their children in the actual classroom setting and at the same time evaluate the school program to give feedbacks, suggestions and recommendations for the betterment of the LABCICI program in meeting the needs of all learners both regular ones and special.
